It’s Mother’s Day this coming Sunday!  We take a look at five green celebrity moms who are doing their part while inspiring others to do good for the planet.
 
Jessica Alba partnered with Safer Chemicals Healthy Families to help raise awareness of the hidden toxic chemicals in consumer products when she was pregnant with her second daughter, Haven.  After Haven arrived, she became the co-founder of Healthy Child Healthy World to create The Honest Company, which is all about eco-friendly baby and children’s products. 
 
Natalie Portman decided to become a vegetarian at the age of 9.  By 2007, she had launched a vegan shoe line.  Not only that, she avoids all animal products, fur, feathers, or leather.  When selecting jewellery, this Academy Award-winner wears conflict-free and recycled jewellery. 
 
Alicia Silverstone keeps a regular eco-friendly blog called The Kind Life which is an interactive extension of her book “The Kind Diet” in which she shares about living a healthy and happy life to the fullest, while taking of mama Earth at the same time.
 
Julia Roberts lives in a sustainably-designed home powered by the sun and built with wood from responsibly-managed forests.  Reusable canvas bags are always found with this Pretty Woman star when she goes shopping and she uses only organic household cleaners.
 
Mom-to-be Lisa Selesner is an active supporter of The Hong Kong Cleanup, an annual environmental event that engages the community to clean Hong Kong’s coastlines, hiking trails and urban areas.  Other organizations she supports include the Hong Kong Cancer Fund and Habitat for Humanity.
