MSG-Free Noodles and Guilt-Free Desserts

Foxtail & Broomcorn, also known as F&B (or more mysteriously just a & when you look at the storefront’s neon sign), is Hong Kong’s newest noodle joint serving healthy and delicious bowls of noodles with no MSG and preservatives.  The name originates from the two grains used in the making of noodles for the past 4,000 years.  Using only raw ingredients plus lots of hard work, not to mention, secret recipes, without any of the bad stuff like trans fats and deep-frying, the original taste of ingredients is the way to go here!
Named after places famous for their noodles, each bowl of noodles is made from the heart and has a unique twist that makes each one stand out from the rest  Kansai with fresh udon noodles and separately served tofu patties in mushroom dashi is simple and savory, with a slightly sweet stock base.  The Japanese originated noodles are chewy and satisfying and perfect when soaked in the soup.  Gurney is made with fresh Hokkien noodles and thin rice noodles with pulled pork in prawn broth.  The broth itself is the most challenging to make, as it needs hours of creation from shrimp shells.  Meats are slow-cooked, including the Beef Tataki with Sambal, which we recommend if you’re into spicy and the meat is super tender.  Not to be missed are the dessert treats, including the Kueh Dadar-pandan flavoured crepe with coconut filling that is sweet and salty and Pecan Cake with salted caramel!
Foxtail & Broomcorn is located at: G/F, 84 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.  Tel: + 852-2415-2555.
