Authentic Teppanyaki
Japanese Restaurant Offering Gorgeous Harbour Views

Looking over Hong Kong’s gorgeous harbour view, Kaika sits on the 19th floor of The ONE, located in the Tsim Sha Tsui shopping district.  Bringing the famous teppanyaki brand from Japan, the JC Group owned restaurant is filled with new culinary creations.  Designed in hues of brown and gold with a mix of modern décor accentuated by exquisite Japanese artwork, the ambiance is cozy yet elegant.
We started with the Okura Salad with Sesame Dressing that is beautifully presented on ice and chrysanthemum, offering a refreshing start to our meal.  We then tried Chef Joe’s authentic teppanyaki dishes which included Teppanyaki Assorted Vegetables, Baked Cod in Onion Soup, Baked Oyster and Spinach in Kinki Fish Soup and Teppanyaki Kinki with Olive and Herbs.  The asparagus, sweet potato and Japanese pumpkin teppanyaki were cooked until they were slightly seared, retaining most of the moisture in the vegetables.  We especially loved the creatively presented baked cod which is served on salt burning on fire.  The cod is juicy and light, with a slight sweetness from the stir fried onions.  Our favorite is definitely the baked oyster which has absorbed the essence of the spinach and stock created from the bones of the kinki fish.  The sauce used in the teppanyaki kinki are quite delicious as well-a mix of ground tuna and black olives alongside cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs.
For a more intimate dining experience, private dining rooms that accommodate up to 6, 8 and 18 guests are available for booking at Kaika.
Kaika is located at: Level 19, The ONE, 100 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.  Tel: +852-2972-2888.
