A massive, history-making event will be taking place on September 21, 2014 in New York City.

And we want YOU to be a part of it.

The Peoples’ Climate March is inviting every single one of you to JOIN IN a happening that will take place around the UN Climate Summit 2014 on September 23, 2014.

"The People's Climate March is a co-ordinated mass mobilisation that is happening in cities across the world to show world leaders, ahead of the UN Climate Summit, that the global community has reached a point where its frustration with the ineffectual policies, the unfulfilled promises, and the lax approaches to mitigating climate change are no longer acceptable," declares the representatives of Hong Kong's People's Climate March.

The main march, which will be held in NYC, extends to the rest of the world as people from Europe, Australia, Brazil, Africa, India, South-East Asia and more join in on the revolutionary movement.

The goal of the march is to draw attention to the climate crisis and to urge the leaders and delegates to find solutions to end man-made climate change.

"As we are already seeing and feeling and experiencing the effects of climate change, this event will show our genuine concern for meaningful climate action that is long overdue and the need to create the positive future all we want," said Ciara Shannon, Asia Co-ordinator of Our Voices, Hong Kong.

As Climate Week NYC gets underway, the NYC Peoples’ Climate March is only the first of many events that will take place for the week. Over 950 international corporations including Dell, Ikea, HP, Nike, Bloomberg and many more are also part of organising the climate awareness activities, while many important figures of American and foreign governments are expected to make appearances, including President Barack Obama.

“With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we’ll take a stand to bend the course of history. We’ll take to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities."

The UN Climate Summit 2014 will take place on Tuesday, 23rd September. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has invited world leaders, from government, finance, business, and civil society to the summit to galvanise and catalyse climate action. Gathering leaders to bring announcements and actions to the Summit that will reduce emissions, strengthen climate resilience, and mobilise political will, the Climate Summit 2014 will provide a unique opportunity for leaders to champion a meaningful legal agreement in 2015.
