Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Bobsy has been pioneering socially responsible businesses in Hong Kong since 1992. As an ecopreneur, he has sought to build healthy and sustainable communities through ecologically viable food and has founded or co-founded many of the vegetarian eateries that have become the standard bearers of the health movement in Hong Kong—Bookworm Cafe, Life Cafe, and MANA! Fast Slow Food. Since the 90's, Bobsy has been championing the on-going planting of the Lamma Forest and through ABLE Charity, which he co-founded in 1994, efforts to protect and expand the forest continue today. In 2009, his ‘Save the Human! Don’t Eat the Planet!’ campaign won the ‘Best Documentary Award’ at ISHOT HK film awards. No matter the format or the context, Bobsy’s bottom line remains the same: to live a vocation that is socially responsible, ecologically conscious, and of service to humanity and the planet. Currently, Bobsy is working on creating Babylon! The Gathering of the Tribe: An Inspired Cafe, Lounge, & Community in the heart of downtown Central.

Blogging at the Edge of the Shift… Part XII

‘ BATTLE NOW! GET PAID LATER…’ Went the old cry from the early Crusades and the daze of Genghis Khan right up to the more recent invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.

‘ BUY NOW! PAY LATER… ‘ Goes modern business from your local bank to your high street gym & fitness centre.

Little has changed over the centuries. The promise to exploit the present in return for a future reward is as hollow as a lump of smelly swiss cheese.

Exploitation is an inherently evil action that carries karmic debts with it. Whether it is the exploitation of those poor pigs that gave you that crispy bacon you had for breakfast the other morning because you “were starving”, or the beef patty in your fast food burger you gobbled down for lunch after your gym workout yesterday because you “were famished”, or that juicy tuna steak you had with your green salad on your romantic dinner last Friday night that you couldn’t finish because you were “so full”. Or whether it’s exploiting pristine Aboriginal lands in Australia for minerals to supply to China via the investment company you work for because you made a “killing” on your business deal. Or whether it’s those 48 plastic lids on your coffee cups, that you could have done without, last month as you sipped your skinny latte in your local coffee shop because “it’s more convenient”. Or whether it’s an army invading a helpless country to dispose a “dictator” or “terrorists” so that the country can be pillaged of it’s natural assets and resources… etc..

Little has changed over the centuries except, the ability to exploit Mother Nature has outpaced human’s ability to exploit one another and outpaced our conscious awareness.
And this makes all the difference in the world. This is the game changer.

It is time to recall the ancient Justinian Code : ‘What touches all must be decided by all’.
True democracy if there ever has been one.

And today the most dangerous policy of all human policies is the notion that billions of consumers in China, India & Asia, and Africa to a lesser degree, will one day enjoy the lifestyles of Americans and Europeans. Now this is as absurd, if not even more destructive, than anything dreamt up by Al Qaeda or “ The terrorists”  combined . For it condemns the Global Environment, the world’s capital,
to early destruction from which we will never be able to recover if we want to keep on going with our modern lifestyles as we know them and as we have become accustomed to.

The roots of this dilemma and predicament, as I have been writing about throughout all my blogs here, is our modern Worldview or Paradigm. When our Westernised culture, and yes that includes Asia & India & Africa, sees the world as dead matter ( mainstream modern science ), the world becomes something to exploit. Our economics, education, industry, business, politics & social arrangements are symbiotically mirrored reflecting this dominant Worldview.

Our hope lies in CHANGE. Our hope lies in the courage to change the way we think and to get out of our own way so that we can become the creative intelligent humans that we are born to be.
Our hope lies in SHIFTING CONSCIOUSNESS and opening up to another way of viewing our world and all of creation and our role in this creation, and to truly step into our power and become spiritual beings with God dwelling in us as us.

As the great Edgar Mitchell, the astronaut and founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences said :
“ We need to make the world safe for creativity and intuition, for it is creativity and intuition that will make the world safe for us.”  For enlightened cutting edge science visit

Until soon
