23-30 January
A melting pot for entrepreneurs, investors, techies and more

Mark you calendar! Ecozine is proud and excited to support the upcoming StartmeupHK Festival on 23-30 Jan 2016.
A week-long celebration of start-ups, the Festival aims at showcasing the dynamism and growth of Hong Kong’s start-up ecosystem to both international and domestic audiences, and will feature keynotes, interactive how-to-sessions, hackathons, powerful lessons from seasoned founders and investors, networking opportunities, plus much more.
The target audience? Start-ups of course, but also investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, leaders, learners, techies, designers, experts, newbies... The aim of the festival is to provide opportunities for all of the above to meet, learn and build success, underscoring how fully the Hong Kong government supports its emerging position as one of the fastest growing start-up hubs in the world.
Leading accelerators, corporates and associations will hold a series of thematic conferences and pitch events, covering areas such as the Internet of things (IoT), financial technology (fintech), health technology and data analytics – an area in which Hong Kong already has a competitive advantage. The Festival is expected to attract thousands of local and overseas start-ups, investors and business leaders to converge in Hong Kong.
The anchor event and highlight of the Festival will take place on Tuesday, January 26th. The StartmeupHK Venture Forum is the week’s flagship conference, with renowned founders and investors offering advice, inspiration and insights for aspiring entrepreneurs through presentations and panel discussions. Confirmed speakers include such as Fritz Demopoulos, Founder of Queen’s Road Capital; Fred Mouawad, Chairman & CEO of Synergia Group of Companies; Mitch Presnick, founder of Super 8 Hotels; Paul Tomes, PassKit Inc’s CEO and Co-Founder; award-winning journalist and news anchor Deborah Kan; and our own Cofounder and Editor in Chief, Nissa Marion, who will be the MC of this invitation-only event.
